FAQs

  • Once you’ve contacted me via phone or website, I’ll email you an evaluation form and ask that you complete a straightforward 3-day diary about your child.

  • A phone or video chat gives me an instant picture of your situation. And because I’ve been doing this for over 20 years, you’d be surprised at how much I can glean from this alone! Forty-five minutes may be all I need to get you on track, but if we need more time together, I may suggest another call or in-home consultation as the next step.

  • Believe it or not, in many cases, there are lots of tweaks to your baby’s feeding, playing and sleep schedules that can have a hugely positive effect. I’ll let you know on the phone if it sounds like a home visit is necessary. But a phone consultation is definitely the best place to start.

  • After our phone consultation, you’ll receive my written assessment, answers to all your questions and a plan of action to follow. This will land in your inbox within 48 hours. Plus you get 7 days of follow up support via phone, text or email.

  • Absolutely – I don’t want anyone to be left wondering! Post consultation, you can call, text or email me if you have any questions.

  • Of course. Changing old habits can be hard. I can come for an in-home stay, if necessary, to help you put new routines in place.

  • I prefer sleep training methods which encourage and allow comforting. Rest assured, I’ll explain a range of methods from gentle no/limited cry solutions to controlled comforting and their relative pros and cons. My goal is to teach your child to love sleep, not hate it!

  • Not always. It depends on the habits we’re trying to change and your baby’s temperament. If babies cry, there are lots of ways to comfort them through the process and support them emotionally as they learn better sleep habits. Humans are remarkably adaptable and can learn new habits in just one week!

  • Yes. While I strongly advocate for safe infant sleeping, I also know that co-sleeping can be done safely if guidelines are followed. I’ve helped lots of attachment/co-sleeping parents find their way to better sleep.

  • Email me and let me know what’s going on. Extra follow up support hours can be purchased or a home visit may be the next step.
